Chiropractic for your Child

Chiropractic care for children offers a solid foundation for whole body wellness through every stage of life. Throughout pregnancy, birth, and childhood, the chiropractic lifestyle offers choices and benefits for your greater health and well being.

Why Chiropractic for Kids?

Children deserve the best chance to achieve their fullest health potential. It is the child’s nervous system that controls their health and development. It controls the person they will grow to be! Knowing this, it is imperative that their nervous system works properly. Having the nerve system free of interference allows the body to develop and function optimally. The very first injury to the nervous system develops during the birth process. Modern day delivery methods including the use of forceps, vacuum, cesarean delivery and even the doctor’s hands can cause misalignments in the child’s fragile spine, known as spinal subluxations. These subluxations put pressure on the nervous system and interfere with the body’s ability to develop and process information. Additionally, events in a child’s life such as learning how to walk, minor falls or sport injuries can negatively impact the developing spine and nervous system. For children to grow and develop properly they must be free of vertebral subluxations. Chiropractic care is the best hope for children’s nervous system to work optimally and be free of subluxations.

While you may not think of chiropractic care as fundamental to your child’s wellbeing, it is no different than taking your child to the dentist for proper care of their teeth and mouth, or to medical doctor for treatment of their illness. Why not give the same consideration to the most important building block in your child’s body – the Nervous System.

The best gift you can give to your child is the gift of lifelong health!

How do I know if there is interference in my child’s nervous system?

Common indicators of nerve interference in children and teens may be, but are not limited to: difficulty sleeping, trouble breastfeeding, constipation, colic, failure to thrive, difficulties with meeting developmental mile stones (motor, social and cognitive skills), asthma, allergies, ear infections, seizures, concentration difficulties, weakened immune system, depression and anxiety.

When should my child see a chiropractor?

Ideally your child’s first adjustment should be following birth. The earlier nerve system interference is found and corrected, the better chance your child has to adapting to the new environment and to be able to grow and develop to their fullest potential.
